At the heart of the iconic Pierre, A Taj Hotel, is Perrine, the property’s culinary gem helmed by Executive Chef Ashfer Biju. The restaurant’s seasonally inspired French American menu has a comprehensive raw bar and vibrant starters such asgreen gazpacho and chilled sweet pea soup that blend harmoniously with seared veal carpaccio or char grilled octopus with sun gold tomatos and kale red pepper sauce. For main dishes, the Lamb Chops really are a must-try, as may be the Black Bass in a seafood broth with fresh fava beans. Chef Biju pays homage to both his upbringing in India's fishing capital of scotland- Kerala and his French culinary training having a menu that will delight both carnivore and vegetarian. His love of seafood can be seen having a choice of simple, yet elegant dishes which are both flavorful and fresh such as the tuna tartare having a light Dijon dressing and the crab imperial flatbread. Be sure to leave room for dessert as their Peach Brown Butter Tart will knock your socks off! The plush restaurant also underwent a gentle renovation to feature a brighter setting with keep the windows open and natural light.
