At my job, we break the work year into quarters. During the time we call “quarter break” (a few days right before the new quarter is going to start) my coworkers and I feel like we are about to lose our minds with the amount of work that's provided to us. Our workload doubles or even triples from what it normally is, so it is a very overwhelming time in my department. It is just like you have been in quicksand, falling deeper into it all and slowly trying to pull yourself back up to the top while being bombarded with more elements being thrown to you to help keep you falling further in. It is within the little moments that when we find ourselves overwhelmed with the workload that people use little triumphs to push ourselves through. Then you have to take a moment, breathe, think back at in which you started and say, “Progress”.
I know that it might sound easier in theory, but it really does make a big difference. When you simply take that brief moment to look at the progress you have made towards reaching that final destination and find out that the jobs are paying off. It does not matter that it may be taking you plenty longer than you thought it might, you are slowly making your way there. It's the constant reminder of where you started versus where you stand now that could keep things in perspective for you personally. Whether it be accomplishing a significant personal goal or just just a little thing to enable you to get through the day, when you take a moment to interrupt things into little sessions of progress, it makes it seem like a whole lot simpler to get to the end.
It can also be about focusing on your personal journey and not noticing those around you. No matter if your friend was faster at it or if your neighbor went a different path to get to the end, the only goal is how you do to accomplish that goal. It effects everyone differently, to ensure that means that everyone's journey is going to be different too. It could seem as if it'll come simpler to other people, but may it isn't as rewarding. The challenges are what make us appreciate things more once they finally exercise our way. The main thing that you should be focused on is when you're feeling and the progress that you're making. This is the one time you should be slightly selfish since this is all about you.
Unfortunately, good things don't happen overnight. It is all about the development it popularized get there and every one of the hard work that has been put into it. Avoid focusing on what other people are doing and instead, choose to concentrate on yourself where you are in life right now in the moment. When you remain centered on the journey and the progress that you are making, it'll make the field of a difference with regards to completing your goals. Just be sure you take a step back, breathe, and say “Progress”.
