5 Honest Reasons You're Scared To Leave Your Comfort Zone

We are the generation of social media. We accept the internet at our fingertips, meaning that many of the time we can get up to date in our own little world. What we are doing, what our best friend does, even regardless of the hell the Kardashians are as much as these days can totally distract us and get us stuck in this tiny little place we create for ourselves.

We usually don’t have the need to let it rest. We don't want to wake up and make real connections with real people. We want to live there, you want to live in the truth we make for ourselves, no matter how diluted it is. Can you explain that?

Why don't we elect to look up once in a while?

It's easier to not concentrate on the reality of a situation. It's simpler than the complicated world full of hurt, violence, and tragedy. In our world we are able to be madly in love with the man of our dreams, much more reality he thinks other people you know may be the hottest thing which has ever walked the earth. It's upright fantasy and we are deeply in love with it. We do not have to take into account the fact that we are killing our world or that our government consists of a bunch of crazies. We are able to focus instead on which Megan is wearing on her behalf trip to Paris or how hot Alex looks for the reason that picture with his cat.

We don't wish to feel small. If you've ever been on an airplane or stood near the giant skyscrapers in New York City, you understand the feeling of tininess. It isn't always bad. Obtaining a new perspective on the world can definitely be eye-opening but it's also terrifying for a lot of people. We take pictures on iPhones and make sure they are smaller than they are meant to be so that we're feeling big again. Everybody wants to feel like we matter enough to alter the world. Everybody wants to become important to the world as well as in our little bubble, we are able to be.

We don't wish to need to interact with each other. We are secure away from people. Facebook provides for us the illusion we have hundreds of friends and Instagram makes us feel famous whenever we hit 100 likes but none of this is real. It’s just another piece of the puzzle we are attempting to stay in and call life. We don't want to have to put in your time and effort to actually speak with someone about their day face to face.

It's no one else's. We were taught becoming an adult to share our toys and when you'd siblings like me, that was a very important lesson. However no one really loves it. We want our things to be ours. Which is why our very own world is really important to us. For this reason relationships are hard. We do not want to share our world with others but to possess a truly great relationship, we have to let them in a little bit.

The only problem with our small world is that we can't live in it forever. It's wonderful. A person always has to awaken to reality at some point. When we never have a second to look at what's really happening, we can never actually help anything. Life can't be such as the fairytales. Not everybody can get the storybook life. So wake the f*ck up already.
